New Patients
Everything to know before your first visit: how booking works, what to bring, and how we handle insurance.
Your First Visit
What to Expect, Step by Step
Your first appointment is about getting to know you and your mouth. Nothing happens without an explanation first.
-
Book your visit
Request a time online or call (562) 436-6013. Have your insurance details handy so our team can look up your benefits before you come in.
-
Arrive a few minutes early
Plan on about 15 minutes to complete your health history and new-patient forms at the front desk, and bring the items listed below.
-
Your exam
Dr. Adli checks your teeth, gums and bite, takes the X-rays you need and screens for oral cancer. When something needs a closer look, we use the iTero digital scanner or CBCT 3D imaging.
-
Your plan
We show you what we found and talk through your options in plain language, including what your insurance is expected to cover, before any treatment begins.
- Photo ID
- A driver’s license or other government-issued ID.
- Your insurance card
- Or the subscriber’s name, date of birth and member ID if you don’t have the card with you.
- Medications and health history
- A list of the medicines you take, plus any allergies, conditions or recent surgeries.
- Recent X-rays
- If you’ve had dental X-rays in the past year or two, ask your previous dentist to send them over. It can save you from repeating them.
- A parent or guardian
- Children should come to their first visit with a parent or legal guardian.

Dental Anxiety
If Dental Visits Make You Nervous
Plenty of our patients walk in anxious, especially when it’s been a while. That’s fine. Tell us when you book.
We’ll take things at your pace, explain each step before we start, and pause whenever you need a break. And there are no lectures about how long it’s been since your last visit.
Connie does the best cleanings – she works very efficiently around nervous patients like myself!
